Accountability when Sheer will power isnt enough



- Accountability -
The obligation of an individual to account for its activities, Accept responsibility for them and disclose the results in a transparent manner.

Basically If you wanna make a behavior change which we all know weight loss is, you have to commit and be honest with yourself about what your doing.

After nutrition and exercise this may be the most important step.
When you have to report to someone or feel that same sense of pressure it tends to change the way we act and think.

Think about the last time you had to present something to someone else versus just your self did you try a little harder than you normally would?

Take weight watchers and their weekly meetings for example half the key to their success is people trying to save face. Think about it most people are already uncomfortable being there. No one wants to go for that weekly weigh in and fail in front of others. 

(I speak from experience!)

Now you don't have to run out and join weight watchers but here are a few tips on how to hold yourself accountable or find someone that will if your like me and have some will power issues. 

(My mommy is mine ;) lol)

Reward yourself (not with food)
Weekly Weigh ins either at home or in a group.
A food diary
An exercise log
A weight loss buddy
Fitness apps like myfitnesspal or lose it
A pedometer or fitbit
Meetings or support groups
Go public and post on your facebook
and last but not least many many gyms and fitness clubs offer team challenges you can get involved with and they offer help and advice while you do the challenge!
